Should Bill Belichick Be Suspended For The Super Bowl Over Deflate-Gate?

Should Belichick be suspended?

There’s almost always some form of controversy after the AFC and NFC Championship games bu this year the New England Patriots may have set the benchmark for it. The investigation into balls being deflated below regulations by the Pats during Sunday’s AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. If they are proven ino the doing of the balls being defalated they will lose  there first round draft pick. So say they should be kicked ou of the super bowl.

In my opinion they shouldnt be balls being deflated wouldnt give them a 40 point advantage. ALso if they were out of the superbowl do you know how much money would be lost from people not watching the game and sales a lot!

Hedge Fund Billionaires to Buy NBA's Bucks for $550M

Billionaires Buy NBA's Bucks

Billionaires Wesley Edens and Marc Lasry have agreed to buy the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks for about $550 million and keep the team in Wisconsin's largest city. But as part of the agreement the Bucks longtime owner and former U.S. Senator Herb Kohl pledged a $100 million gift to be matched by the new owners for the development of a new arena for the team. The deal, which still needs league approval, represents a premium from the $405 million that Forbes valued the team at in January. That is the lowest valuation of any of the NBA’s 30 teams witch in comparison with the $1.4 billion estimated price tag of the New York Knicks.
I think this is a good thing that the buck will stay in the same town abd not move, Because if they would move that could be bad of milwaukee with business. Because im sure that they are ahuge business and money bringer to the town from people coming all over to watch the Bucks play.

Undisputed champs in a disputed sport

Football champs in a disputed sport

On January 12th the first victor under the new model of the nathional championship was crowned by Ohio State, which beat the University of Oregon by a convincing score of 42-20, in front of more than 100,000 spectators at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Texas. The game drew more than 27m viewers, making it the most-watched show ever on cable. That makes the 12-year, $7.3 billion contract ESPN, signed with the sport’s “conferences” to broadcast the college football postseason look like a bargain: the $1m advertisers paid for a 30-second spot during the game is sure to rise for the 2016 edition.

In myopinion thenational cha, pionship was a great idea because it proves that the top team in the nation isnt just the 1st ranke team. I wish that the playoff bracket would of been all 25 ranked teams though. Because that then shows who is the true best team in FBS football.

Major League Baseball Sees Record $9 Billion In Revenues For 2014

Record 9 Billion in Revenues

This 2014 year the MLB can almost look back and say some very good news. The league will see approximately $9 billion in gross revenues for the 2014 calendar year with this being a new record. There is still more calculations that need to be done with that amount that could bring that number up just a little. But that number is up from being $8 billion just last year, that is an increase of 13 percent. The reason for the increase is that the league saw revenues double form new broadcast deals with their national network partners like FOX, ESPN, and TBS that summed up of an additional $788.3 million a year.

That is a lot of fricken money! The MLB is sitting pretty right now. With a one billion 13% gross revenue increase in just one year, you know someone is doing something right there. I don't think they should stop there they should try to expand the MLB into different countries just like how the NFL is trying to do that could possible bring in even more money.

Team Valuations

Team Valuations – Milwaukee/Alabama edition

The bucks last season were announced as the worst team in the NBA with a record of 15-67. They out beat the 76ers by 4 games witch is still really bad. But they are still making a crazy amount of 550 million. If you think about it though that isn't a huge amount for a sports team. I believe that it is because they aren't good so ticket sales are not where they should be.

But in college sports the Alabama crimson tide was making more revenue then most pro teams. This shows that college is becoming more and more popular and in future years I believe that the NCAA can become the biggest business in the whole USA. If you think about it that is crazy the NCAA is suppose to be there for students to get a good education and play a sport in the process. But they are making it into a billion dollar company.

In Minnesota, all the Stadiums are Above Average

Bigger and nicer Stadiums

The Vikings have been awarded as the home of super bowl 2018. They beat out the Saints and the Colts for the home. The Vikings stadium has become a much better stadium and football atmosphere on the past few years. But this selection was seen as an upset witch I believe because the Colts and Saints both have top notch stadiums.

They reason they were picked is because they are almost like forced to upgrade there facilities. ITs kind of like the Olympic thing in countries. It helps a program get a better name so they can be looked at as a high end program. The only down fall of this location is it is very cold there so it might be a little bit hard to sell more tickets because not everybody is willing to sit in 0 degree weather.

Brazil and Tourism During The 2014 World Cup- The Sports Economist

World Cup 2014

The world cup brought in over 1 million viewers of the sport to Brazil. This brought in so much money from tourism. When a country is in need of a economic boost they try to hold a major event like the world cup or the Olympics When the Olympics are held in a bad economic country they are force to create new stores and stadiums. So this will bring in a lot of money to that country and help them and hopefully give them a economic boost. But there is also another side to it when all those people leave because that big event is over those shops that were opened don't have the same business anymore. So might eventually shut down and go out of business.

This happens when the Average revenue is below a companies average variable cost. That is what makes a company shut down and this happens a lot, because their business isn't booming anymore so they lower their prices and don't make the money they need to.
